Mother Daughter Shoot | Powell River Photographer

Two of the most Beautiful girls | Powell River Photography

Marina was one of the winners of the Bootlegger Ballot Contest Beauty & Bliss Photography ran in the Summer.  She contacted me at the PERFECT time, just after my shoot with Brittany, right before Christmas, and the sky was promising numerous cloudy days (my kind of lighting)!

I had chosen a bench as the main prop and we had to get it out to the location just minutes before the shoot and pick it up a day later.  It was heavy and was much easier getting it there as we used a dolly.  But picking it back up to bring it home was a bit more of a challenge as we didn’t have the dolly.  We needed three of us (from my crew) to carry it back and load it on the truck.  It was a bit silly really, that it took three of us, but it was cold and we were tired.  But I have to say that the bench was well worth it even though it only made it in a few shots.

And poor Mya was so cold.  The wind coming off the ocean was a little too chilly and her little hands and cheeks were feeling it.  Luckily I over prepared and brought a super soft comfy blanket with me.  This worked great as Mya was able to smile again for a few more shots and she was comfy and warm cuddling with her mommy.

At one point during the shoot I asked Mya who her best friend was.  She looked at me and turned to her mom and pointed “She is.”  Now that’s awesome.  You can tell that Mya will feel that way forever, that her mom is her best friend.  They are so close and love each other more than anything in the world.  It was awesome being able to photograph them together.

Say hello to beautiful Marina and her cutie-pie daughter Mya.
